NOTICE: SPRING 2008 SERVICE WEEKEND POSTPOSTED
Service Weekend is rescheduled to new date: May 30-June
1
Note from the Service Weekend Coordinator Jim Brooks:
Please don't come to Camp this weekend, but please do come in
2 weeks. We need to postpone the Service Weekend until May 30
to June 1, 2008. There are too many trenches remaining open
for us to be effective. Most of us will be standing around if
we try to hold the Service Weekend this weekend. The playfield
is covered with piles of sand, so there is no
place to park. The electrical lines are in the trenches, but
the trenches have not been backfilled. The waterlines run to
only 2 buildings so far, and more water line trenches will be
dug this week. We can't do any work on the paths, grounds and
road until the trenches are backfilled. Due to the rainy spring
and a death in the family of the site work folks, we have not
progress as far as we had hoped. It is uncertain how many buildings
will have power and water this weekend.
This means that Adult Session will begin 5 days after the
Service Weekend - June 6, 2008. It will be a scramble to get
everything in order
before Adult Session, so PLEASE come and help in 2 weeks.
If you know someone who is planning to come this weekend,
please contact them and tell them to postpone their plans
for 2 weeks. I'm very sorry for the late notice, we were hoping
that things would come together so we could do the bulk of
the work this weekend and still have 2 weeks for mop-up before
Adult Session. But, things just didn't happen.
Please come in 2 weeks if only for a few hours. Thank you.

Camp Foundation Service weekends take place to work on maintaining
and repairing Camp buildings and grounds.
Service Weekends are the THIRD WEEKEND of May and the THIRD
WEEKEND of September each year at Nature Camp.
